I’ve spent most of my professional years as a wine writer at Wine Spectator reporting on price trends of superior wines sold at US auctions. I pursued wine as a career after being introduced to fine wine at Bard College and enjoying award winning wines with a collector and friend. My years at Wine Spectator were great years full of experiences and extensive opportunities to taste many varieties and vintages of wine.
Throughout my Wine Spectator years I fostered a goal to open a wine market. After visiting central Florida over several years, my wife and I decided to make a major move and we soon found an amazing home in St. Cloud/Kissimmee. It was a big decision to move away from the wine mecca of New York City but we knew our family opportunity was in Florida. We moved to Florida in late 2007, worked hard to put financing in place and began searching for just the right spot for our wine market. We eventually found Kissimmee City Centre in September of 2008. Impressed with the overall plan and atmosphere of the center, we felt great about joining the other businesses on Dakin Avenue. In October 2008 we broke ground for Vintage Vino and we opened in January 2009. Vintage Vino is a quality wine shop and bar focused on new and exceptional wines, beers and cheeses. We have over 50 wines and 20 beers to taste at all times with the focus on the tasting experience.
